Uncorking 2022 Cavatina Premium Sparkling Peach
The effervescent fizz of this sparkling wine was really nice and added a new level of flavor and intrigue to the experience. When first uncorking it, a delightful peach scented mist came out of the neck. Allowing it to breath for a few minutes before pouring, allowed for all of the flavors to awaken.
Having a glass with some woodfired pizza was a great pairing for me in my humble opinion. The sweetness of the wine and the tangy sauce of the pizza, and the boldness of the parmesan cheese was fantastic.

Dolcezza Wine Spritzer Pineapple
I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it is a budget friendly wine that I found at WinCo. Now if you have followed along with me throughout my humble wine tasting journey from my very first bottle of Oak Leaf Sweet Red, to now, you will notice that I always look for budget friendly to midrange wines.
So far, I have yet to be thoroughly disappointed in my selections. I also tend to favor a dessert wine, or something that is extremely fruity, vs something that is bold like a good dry Red. Though I enjoy those at times as well. But for friends and just sipping on a summer evening, I go for fruity (and because I have a sweet tooth).
Personal Notes:
tangy, floral, sweet, apple, lightly tart, vanilla, crisp smooth finish, front of mouth.

Embracing the Joys of Amateur Wine Tasting - So far
Sip, Swirl, Savor:
When it comes to wine tasting, I've learned that there's no rush. It's all about taking your time to sip, swirl, and savor every drop. With each glass, I find myself discovering new nuances and flavors that I never knew existed. From the fruity notes of a vibrant Merlot to the crispness of a refreshing Sauvignon Blanc, every sip is an adventure of the senses.
Exploring Different Varietals:
One of the most exciting aspects of being an amateur wine taster is the sheer variety of wines out there. From reds to whites, rosés to sparkling, there's a whole spectrum of flavors waiting to be explored. I love venturing into wine regions I've never tried before, like the velvety Malbecs from Argentina or the elegant Pinot Noirs from Oregon. Each new varietal opens up a world of taste and terroir.
Pairing Pleasures:
As I immerse myself in the world of wine, I've discovered the joys of pairing wine with different foods. It's like a culinary puzzle, finding the perfect match to enhance both the wine and the dish. Whether it's a zesty Riesling with spicy Thai cuisine or a robust Cabernet Sauvignon with a juicy steak, the right pairing elevates the entire dining experience.
Wine Tasting Adventures:
As an amateur wine taster, I've had my fair share of wine tasting adventures. From visiting local vineyards to joining virtual tastings with friends, each experience has been unique and memorable. Exploring the stories behind each winery and meeting passionate winemakers adds a personal touch to every glass I raise.
Unearthing Hidden Gems:
One of the most rewarding feelings is stumbling upon a hidden gem—a wine that steals your heart without breaking the bank. I've found that some of the most delightful wines are the ones with humble labels but captivating flavors. Being an amateur wine taster allows me to venture beyond the mainstream and discover these hidden treasures.
Learning and Growing:
In the world of wine, there's always something new to learn. I relish the opportunity to expand my knowledge, whether it's understanding the aging process, decoding wine labels, or mastering the art of wine tasting etiquette. Each new lesson enriches my wine-tasting journey and helps me appreciate the intricacies of winemaking.
Wine Rituals:
As an amateur wine taster has introduced me to delightful rituals that make every wine moment special. From decanting red wines to chilling whites at just the right temperature, these little practices enhance the overall wine experience. And let's not forget the joy of popping the cork—it's like opening a treasure chest of flavors! One of my favorite rituals is, having my nightly glass at sunset. I am able to let my hair down, and get carried away in a symphony of flavors.
Sharing the Love:
Wine tasting is an experience best shared with others. Whether it's hosting a wine night with friends or sending a bottle as a thoughtful gift, sharing the love of wine creates lasting memories. It's a fantastic way to bond, laugh, and celebrate life's moments together.
Embracing the Journey:
In the world of amateur wine tasting, there's no need for perfection or pretentiousness. It's about embracing the journey, enjoying every glass, and cherishing the camaraderie that comes with being part of this vibrant community. So, let's raise our glasses and toast to the joys of being amateur wine tasters—one sip at a time!
